Mentoring is a vital component of new teacher onboarding. What are the qualities of a great mentoring relationship?

The ideal mentor is a senior teacher or staff member with expertise in the mentee’s curriculum.  An in-house mentor can speak with the new teacher frequently and meet formally as often as needed (usually weekly at first).
